Description
This program provides you or your team with six hours of educational material designed to give wealth management industry professionals foundational education on real estate, one of the largest asset classes. At the end of each module, you will be assessed on the covered material and will have unlimited chances to score 70% or better to advance to the next module.
The program is geared towards client- or advisor-facing professionals. The curriculum includes four modules:
Module 1 - The Fundamentals of Real Estate,
Module 2 - Introduction to Real Estate Sectors,
Module 3 - Investing in Real Estate, and
Module 4 - Portfolio Implementation.

5. Understand the unique characteristics of the multifamily sector
6. Identify and describe the evolution of emerging real estate sectors
Module 3 Investing in Real Estate
1. Understand the different methods of measuring the real estate market’s size
2. Describe the differences, advantages, and disadvantages of listed vs. unlisted real estate from an investment perspective
3. Describe the different types of real estate debt, a real estate property’s capital structure, and the different types of interest rates paid to investors
4. Describe the various real estate equity styles and their applications to single properties and real estate funds
5. Understand the importance and application of sustainability issues in real estate
Module 4 Portfolio Implementation
1. Define concepts such as accredited investor, qualified purchaser, net asset value, and J-curve.
2. Understand the various illiquid, semi-liquid, and liquid fund vehicles available for accessing real estate investments
3. Understand and differentiate internal rate of return, multiples on invested capital, and public market equivalents
4. Discuss various methods and approaches to integrating unlisted real estate into a diversified portfolio
5. Discuss and address implementation challenges associated with integrating real estate into a diversified portfolio
