Today's discussion is meant to be an overview of the white paper by doctor Wade Pfau professor of practice at The American College of Financial Services his paper is entitled Supporting client goals in retirement: The role of structured annuities with living benefits. This course will highlight the benefits of structured annuities in retirement planning. It will isolate and highlight the types of structured annuity segments that will most improve investment returns while reducing overall portfolio volatility, and the role of living benefits for providing lifetime income.

This course will provide an analysis of adding RILA/Structured annuities with living benefits to a portfolio and how addition of these protection strategies can improve returns, reduce volatility and increase income. Financial professionals will review the different types of RILA benefits. Using empirical research and a new framework for measuring retirement income portfolio efficiency, Dr. Wade Pfau demonstrates the alpha generated by structured annuities with living benefits when integrated with a managed account.
