Description
Historically financial advisors have been occupied with managing their clients’ money, however, research has shown that what clients truly value is not the investment management, but rather an advisor helping them to achieve their goals, have peace of mind and obtain self-fulfillment. We have witnessed a shift from the advisor acting as a portfolio manager to the advisor acting as a holistic financial planner, which clients value more. This talk identifies the changing investment landscape, what clients truly value in their financial advisor and how an advisor can shift into becoming more of a financial planner. Along the way we explore key themes including how the changing investment landscape may offer an opportunity for an advisor to change their approach. One approach explored here is outsourcing and the potential benefits of outsourcing financial management to help the advisor better serve their clients.
