Financial advice is at an inflection point; clients are living longer and expect to live better. They are looking for help navigating the challenges of living longer with changes in health, family, and objectives. This course will provide, based on some of the findings of the Transamerica sponsored study at the MIT Age Lab by Dr. Joseph F. Coughlin, Ph.D., information regarding Social Security, Medicare, annuities, health and long term care insurance, and other areas that need to be considered for comprehensive retirement planning in the NEW AGE OF ADVICE.

- Distinguish between different Social Security claiming strategies and their effect on income.
- Recognize the different coverage offered by Medicare and their associated costs for retirement planning.
- Differentiate between different legal documents and how they affect clients’ accounts, insurance, annuities, and investments.
- Discover the possible pitfalls of ignoring clients’ planning needs regarding the challenges of funding healthcare, lifestyle changes and housing while recognizing the signs of early dementia and elder abuse to help prevent possible harmful financial transactions.
