Description

This training is designed to help CFP professionals deliver pro bono financial planning and advice to cancer patients as part of a program administered by national cancer nonprofit, Family Reach, with funding provided by the Foundation for Financial Planning (FFP) and other support provided by both FFP and the Financial Planning Association.

Learning Objectives

The training has the following learning objectives: 1. To give CFP professionals an overview of why pro bono financial planning can be so vital for patients and families facing cancer, 2. To provide specific guidance on how to interact with families experiencing cancer, including discussion of the financial issues they may face, and 3. To show how to use the Referral Gateway to interact with pro bono clients. The Referral Gateway is an online resource where CFP volunteers are able to manage referrals and report on engagements with clients referred to the planner.
