Description
This course will provide an understanding of the need for retirement planning as a part of the overall financial planning process. The topics covered include the need for planning, various annuity products available, annuitization, and payout options. The student will learn the importance of helping their clients plan for retirement income, how annuitization can help ensure a client's financial well-being and the steps required to accomplish this. Finally, the course reviews the duties of agents in determining the objectively-reasonable basis for recommendations of annuities. The course also reviews the agent responsibility to provide a comparison of different annuity contracts, including potential tax implications and disclosure of risk factors.
Learning Objectives
This course requires a basic knowledge of annuities and the terminology used in the sales of annuities; thus, designating it an intermediate level course. The student learns ways in which to educate clients, allowing them the confidence of investing in annuity products. You will also learn the importance of educating your younger clients to begin planning for retirement as early as possible, for maximum results. There are a myriad of ways in which clients can financially prepare for retirement; this course focuses on the use of annuities to meet their goals.
