Kathryn Berkenpas, CFP®
Kathryn Berkenpas, CFP® joined CFP Board as Managing Director, Corporate Growth in April 2025. In this role, Kathryn leads the development and execution of strategies to strengthen CFP Board’s relationships with financial services firms. By aligning firms’ business objectives, challenges and market trends, she provides tailored strategic guidance and solutions that leverage CFP Board’s data, programs and initiatives. Her work supports the growth of CFP® certification among firm employees and fosters collaboration across CFP Board’s program development, workforce, finance, fundraising, diversity, marketing and communication, and research teams.
Before joining CFP Board, Kathryn was Group Director at Morgan Stanley for The Chesapeake Capitol Group, with $2 billion in assets under management. She also spent nearly 16 years at MissionSquare Retirement, where she held several leadership positions, including, Vice President of Client Enablement. In this role, she spearheaded strategic initiatives to expand retirement solutions and partnerships, driving growth and innovation in the public sector financial services space.
Kathryn earned her CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® certification in 2004. She holds a master’s degree in public administration from George Mason University and bachelor’s degree from Virginia Tech’s CFP Board registered program.
