Through a deliberate and inclusive process, CFP Board developed a draft of proposed revisions to the Standards of Professional Conduct that were intended to enhance the integrity and value of CFP® professionals to the clients and communities they serve.
This Side-by-Side Comparison document compares the proposed Code of Ethics and Standards of Conduct to the four sections of the Standards of Professional Conduct that it replaces:

CFP Board requested comments on the proposed revisions to its Standards of Professional Conduct and provided the Side-by-Side Comparison to assist with this review of the proposed Code of Ethics and Standards of Conduct and examine detail on what's changed.
The final Code of Ethics and Standards of Conduct became effective October 1, 2019.
