CFP Board has appointed June Taylor, JD, as chief of staff, effective March 16.

As chief of staff to newly-appointed CEO K. Dane Snowden, Taylor will serve as strategic advisor to the CEO, ensure alignment of CFP Board priorities and build collaborative partnerships across the organization. In addition to supporting the Board of Directors, Taylor will oversee Human Resources and the Executive Office.

Taylor brings more than 20 years of senior leadership experience across government, education and the private sector. She previously served as chief operating officer of the Colorado Attorney General’s Office; executive director of the Colorado Department of Personnel & Administration and state personnel director on the cabinet of then-Colorado Gov. John Hickenlooper; chief human resources officer for Denver Public Schools; and senior manager for culture, diversity and equal opportunity programs at Lockheed Martin Space. In all of these roles, Taylor proved adept at driving large-scale organizational transformation in highly regulated environments.

“June is an exceptional leader with the judgment and operational expertise to help CFP Board move our priorities forward,” Snowden said. “She has led large, mission-driven organizations and knows how to translate strategy into results. I’m excited to have her as a partner as we continue to expand the profession’s impact.”

Taylor began her career as a federal attorney with the U.S. Department of Energy’s Western Area Power Administration and later held senior roles at the Federal Communications Commission, including chief of staff to the Consumer and Governmental Affairs Bureau, where she previously served as Snowden’s chief of staff.

As chief of staff, Taylor will help drive alignment across CFP Board’s strategic initiatives, enhance cross-functional coordination and ensure effective execution of enterprise goals. She will also help support talent development, organizational culture and leadership effectiveness.

“CFP Board plays a critical role in strengthening trust in financial planning and protecting Americans,” Taylor said. “I’m honored to join this team and look forward to supporting our leadership, our staff and CFP® professionals across the nation in advancing this important mission.”

Taylor holds a Juris Doctor from the University of Denver College of Law and graduated cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa from the University of New Mexico. She is a member of the National Asian Pacific American Bar Association and a Council Leader of the US-Japan Council.
