AI: From ‘in the Loop’ to in Control
As AI becomes more common in financial advice, many advisers remain hesitant to discuss their use of it, even though nearly half report using AI tools. To promote responsible adoption, CFP Board released a “Generative AI Ethics Guide,” offering clear principles and practical checklists to help professionals use AI ethically and transparently. “I think, ultimately, that type of transparency builds trust in the client relationship. Some clients may celebrate the fact that you’re using AI,” Leo Rydzewski, General Counsel at CFP Board, says. “There [are] a lot of ways that an adviser can use AI to help better their practice and benefit the clients by freeing up time.”
