Trump's Tax Bill Offers Wins — And a Major Loss — For Advisors

Wealth management groups have mixed reactions to a narrow House-passed tax bill that includes both wins and losses for the industry. Commenting on the bill, Erin Koeppel, Managing Director of Government Relations and Public Policy Counsel at CFP Board, notes that CFP Board supports the 529 expansion into "career savings plans" but opposes eliminating the financial advisor fee deduction, citing research showing this tax benefit removal has harmed consumers.
