Financial Planning Superhero: Kids at Work
Bring Financial Planning to Life for the Next Generation
Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work Day, observed nationally on April 23, offers firms a meaningful opportunity to introduce young people to the working world and to the role financial planning professionals play in helping individuals and families build the lives they want. To help firms make the most of the day, CFP Board created Financial Planning Superhero: Kids at Work, a plug-and-play guide designed to make hosting a Take-a-Kid-to-Work Day both easy and engaging.
Research shows that early financial education can make a real difference. Studies have found that children as young as five can begin to understand basic money concepts and demonstrate saving behavior, and that early exposure to financial ideas can help shape positive financial attitudes and habits later in life.
The guide provides flexible, ready-to-use activities firms can easily adapt to their office and schedule, including a suggested event outline, interactive games, scavenger hunts and an optional at-home guide for parents to continue money conversations after the day ends. Whether your firm hosts a few activities or a full-day program, Financial Planning Superhero: Kids at Work helps firms create a Take-a-Kid-to-Work Day experience that is engaging, memorable and fun.
