Discussion will begin with a brief overview of the CGA, then quickly move to general industry observations to help promote the CGA concept from within your organization. Next, we will share donor focused creative gift strategies that go beyond the standard CGA offering and story. Create gifts based on what your donor tells you they want. We will highlight the QCD-IRA funded CGA given its’ significant increase as a funding method. Finally, we will present stewardship strategies that can lead to repeat giving. Explore the powerful cultivation and stewardship potential of your CGA program.

Learning Objectives

By the end of this session, participants will be able to: Summarize the key features and benefits of charitable gift annuities (CGAs) as a planned giving vehicle, including basic structure and tax implications. Identify trends and industry insights that can help promote CGAs internally and externally as part of a broader planned giving strategy. Develop donor-centric CGA strategies by tailoring gift structures to individual donor goals, needs, and circumstances. Explain the role and mechanics of Qualified Charitable Distributions (QCDs) from IRAs in funding CGAs, particularly in light of recent regulatory changes and donor interest. Implement stewardship strategies that deepen donor relationships, enhance satisfaction with CGA arrangements, and encourage repeat or additional planned gifts.
