CFP Exam Hits Record July Turnout As Pay, CE Stakes Rise

CFP Board reported a record 3,621 candidates sat for the July 2026 CFP® exam, the largest July testing cohort on record, with a 66% pass rate. The milestone comes as CFP Board research shows CFP® professionals' median compensation rose to $195,000 in 2025 and as the organization prepares to implement enhanced continuing education requirements in 2027, including 40 hours of CE every two years with dedicated ethics training.
