Would You Rather Buy a Car to Commute or Uber Every Day? The Answer May Rely on Where You Live

Rising vehicle and fuel costs have led some consumers to consider ride-sharing as an alternative to car ownership, though an analysis found that owning a car remains less expensive than using Uber for daily commuting in every state. CFP Board Ambassadors Odaro Aisueni, CFP® and Erin Voisin, CFP® noted that while Uber can help some people avoid the upfront and maintenance costs of owning a car, daily reliance on ride-sharing can be more expensive over time and may come with reliability and safety concerns.
