CFP Board Proposes Refinements to Ethical Fitness Assessments for Expunged Convictions

CFP Board is seeking feedback from financial advisors, firms and the public on a proposal that would allow its Disciplinary and Ethics Commission to take expunged criminal convictions into account when assessing a candidate's eligibility for CFP® certification. The change would recognize expungement as a factor that may support an applicant's case for certification and follows a series of recent updates to CFP Board's ethics and enforcement standards.
