According to CFP Board's 2026 Compensation Study, advisors at independent broker-dealers and wirehouses were the industry's highest earners last year, with median compensation of $226,000 and $214,000, respectively. CFP Board Managing Director of Research Kevin Roth, Ph.D emphasized that being a financial planner, particularly a CFP® professional, is a rewarding career path.
