53% of College Students Feel Pressured by Social Media to Overspend

A new WalletHub survey shows college students are under growing financial strain, questioning the value of tuition, feeling unprepared to manage money, and facing spending pressure fueled by social media. The findings track with CFP Board’s Dollars & Sense: A Report on College Students and Their Personal Finances, of more than 2,000 undergraduates, which found that 65% want more education on saving, investing, and debt management, and 83% say their financial well-being is closely tied to their happiness.
