Loan Demands Rise as New Study Reveals Roughly 3 in 4 Students Feel Financially Insecure

Amid rising college costs, a new trend report from Ascent Funding, drawing on student responses and research from Trellis Strategies and CFP Board, found that students’ biggest source of anxiety isn’t debt itself, but making major financial decisions without enough information or guidance. Reinforcing that concern, CFP Board research shows that two-thirds of Gen Z college students want to learn more about personal finance, signaling strong demand for better financial literacy support.
