'It's a Reality of Where We Are,' 71% of Adults Say Debt Is Keeping Them From Building Wealth

Consumer debt has surged over the past decade, and most Americans now say it’s hindering their personal financial goals. According to CFP Board’s Debt and New Year’s Resolutions Report, nearly one-third of respondents named debt reduction as their top New Year’s resolution — second only to saving more money, which led at 45%.
