What Will It Take to Get More Advisors Volunteering?

In 2024, about 18,000 CFP® professionals did pro bono work, a 16% increase from the previous year, although fewer than 20% of all CFP® professionals participate. To encourage more engagement, CFP Board is considering allowing pro bono work to count toward the 30 hours of continuing education required each reporting period. “Younger folks want to do well in their careers, but they also want to do good,” said Moley Evans, Director of Volunteer Engagement at CFP Board.
