Tennessee Regulator to Reconsider ‘Costly’ Custody Proposal

A group of industry organizations, including CFP Board, has urged a Tennessee regulator to revise a custody rule they say is imposing costly compliance burdens on the state’s investment advisors. In a letter, they argued the policy diverges from SEC guidance, and the regulator’s response indicates their concern may be gaining traction.
