Survey Finds Majority of Americans Can’t Cope With Expiring 2017 Tax Cuts

A new Cato Institute survey highlights growing anxiety among Americans about higher taxes, particularly if the 2017 tax cuts expire this year. CFP Board's 2025 CFP® Professionals Taxes Survey warned of a "tax tipping point," with 90% of financial professionals citing risks to clients' long-term goals, especially regarding retirement income and legacy planning.
