The Sanders-Hawley Bill Wants to Cap Credit Card Rates. Here’s What You Need to Know

Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) and Sen. Josh Hawley (R-Mo.) introduced a bill that would cap credit card interest rates at 10%. With credit card delinquency rates significantly higher than pre-pandemic levels, CFP Board’s Debt and New Year’s Resolutions Report revealed that reducing debt is Americans' top financial priority for 2025.
