Financial Advice Used to Be Tax Deductible. These Groups Want to Bring That Back.

CFP Board and financial services organizations are urging Congress to restore the tax deduction for financial advice fees. In a letter to the chairman of the House Ways and Means Committee, they contended that the 2017 tax reform enacted by the Trump administration, which eliminated this limited deduction, has made investment and planning services less affordable for Americans.
