Videos: 50th Anniversary of Financial Planning – Honoring the Past, Embracing the Future
On December 12, 1969, the movement toward a financial planning profession was sparked by a meeting of 13 individuals who came together in Chicago to discuss a better way of providing financial advice. These pioneers saw the need for a profession that integrated knowledge and practices across the many fragmented areas of financial services – what we know today as financial planning.
In recognition of Financial Planning’s 50th anniversary, CFP Board has produced two videos to honor the profession’s past and embrace its future.
The first video recognizes that landmark event and honors the accomplishments of the past 50 years that have advanced what has become a global profession of financial planning.
The second video recognizes the accomplishments of the past 50 years, with a view toward the profession’s future.
CFP Board thanks Dr. Bill Gustafson and Texas Tech’s Personal Financial Planning department for their contribution of materials from The Archives for the History of Financial Planning.
