A Great List: 28 CFP® Professionals Named to InvestmentNews’ 2016 “40 Under 40”

July 05, 2016
Nearly two-thirds of the recently-released InvestmentNews’ “40 Under 40” list – 28 in all – are CFP® professionals, including CFP Board Ambassadors Douglas A. Boneparth, CFP® and Kate Holmes, CFP®.

“Congratulations to Kate, Douglas, and the other CFP® professionals who are on this exclusive list,” said Chief Executive Officer Kevin R. Keller, CAE. “As the CFP Board Center for Financial Planning works to address the industry’s talent gap, it’s promising that CFP® certification clearly holds great value among the industry’s most talented young professionals.”

InvestmentNews’ editorial staff generates this annual list of professionals under age 40 in the financial advice industry based upon a combination of factors, including their accomplishments to date, contributions to the industry, leadership and promise. This year’s winners also showcase the power of personality – “those special qualities that make an individual stand out and force the world to take notice.” The honorees were chosen among 800 nominees. More about the list and related articles can be found here.

“It’s amazing that so many of the best and brightest next generation advisors have their CFP® certification,” said Boneparth, a CFP Board Ambassador from New York City. “Earning the CFP® marks take hard work to achieve, and truly display commitment to the field. I’m proud to have them.”

In addition, nine out of the eleven women honored on the list are CFP® professionals.

“CFP® professionals enjoy their job while doing meaningful work. A career in financial planning has so much to offer young professionals, and the passion and drive of the individuals on this list reflect that,” said Holmes, a CFP Board Ambassador and a member of CFP Board’s Women’s (WIN) Initiative Council. “It is also great to see women well-represented among the CFP® professionals that were included.”
