Nancy A. Kistner, CFP® Elected 2012 Chair-elect
Proponent of Financial Literacy and Community Leader
Washington, DC, July 15, 2011 – Veteran financial planner and community volunteer, Nancy A. Kistner, CFP® has been elected to CFP Board's Board of Directors as 2012 Chair-elect. Her peers chose her for this prestigious role at its July Board of Directors meeting.
"CFP Board continues to raise the bar for the financial planning profession, and I am honored to have the chance to serve an organization, which has given so much to my profession," Kistner said.
Managing Director and Wealth Planning Solutions Market Director at U.S. Trust, Bank of America Private Wealth Management in New York, Kistner has dedicated her professional life to the advancement of the financial planning profession. She is a leader, working to provide her clients with customized strategies for financial, trust and estate and tax planning issues.
She currently serves on the Board of Directors for The Coalition for Debtor Education in New York City– through Fordham Law School– whose mission is to assist consumers, with a particular emphasis on vulnerable populations, in understanding and improving their ability to manage their financial affairs.

The Board of Directors elected Kistner at its July 13-15 meeting. She will begin her duties as Chair-elect on January 1, 2012, when Alan Goldfarb, CFP® begins his term as 2012 Chair. Kistner will serve as Chair of the Board of Directors beginning in January 2013.

In her prior roles, Nancy gained experience in investment portfolio management, insurance and banking. She previously served as Director and Head of Financial Planning in the Citi Private Bank, where she managed a team of financial planning professionals and delivered complex financial, trust and estate planning advice to high net worth individuals. Nancy also served as Head of Financial Planning Training at MetLife Financial Services prior to serving in her role at Citi.
She enjoys using her considerable financial expertise to benefit others, as evidenced by her role at The Coalition for Debtor Education and her volunteer work with the AARP Foundation's Bill Payer Program, where she serves as a bill payer for seniors – helping them maintain financial independence and pay bills on time.
Nancy received her Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA).
