Accelerate & WIN

Accelerate & WIN is tackling the pressing issue of underrepresentation of women in the financial planning profession.

Despite sustained progress, only 24% of CFP® professionals are women, and women remain underrepresented across the financial planning profession. While the number of female CFP® professionals grows by 4% annually, the increase is negligible when compared to the overall growth of CFP® professionals.

CFP Board is committed to changing these numbers with a bold plan to accelerate the growth, influence and leadership of women CFP® professionals by:

  • Driving New Research and Developing Resources: We’ll focus on identifying and promoting best practices to attract, retain and grow the number of women CFP® professionals;
  • Convening Visionary Leaders: We’ll bring together leaders from financial planning, wealth management, and organizations that empower women and girls to develop actionable solutions that grow the number of women who enter and succeed in the financial planning profession;
  • Amplifying Women’s Voices: We’re committed to living up the voices of successful women, promoting what’s working and identifying areas where more action is needed; and
  • Creating Strategic Partnerships: By developing impactful partnerships, we aim to catalyze a larger movement in the financial planning profession to propel women’s growth and advancement.

WIN Council: Shaping the Future of Women in Financial Planning

The WIN Council is a dynamic group of experts in women’s leadership, financial planning and wealth management, and organizations that support women’s growth and development. The WIN Council’s role is to advise, guide and actively shape initiatives that increase the number of women entering financial planning and achieving CFP® certification.

Research: Insights for Growth

CFP Board’s ongoing research is uncovering the barriers to racial and gender diversity in financial planning and outlining recommendations to make the profession more welcoming to diverse candidates.

The Building Wealth: Insights on Women’s Aspirations & Growing Financial Power report emphasizes the need for greater female representation in financial planning to ensure the profession meets the needs of women clients.
