No, your CFP® certification renewal is not complete until payment is made to CFP Board.
As of October 2025, the annual CFP® certification fee is $575.
If you do not renew your CFP® certification by the deadline, you will be charged a $75 late fee to reinstate, and you may have a lapse in your certification status and lose your CFP® marks.
CFP Board accepts MasterCard, Visa, Amex, ACH Bank Transfer and check.
Your CFP® certification expires on the last day of the month 1 year after your last renewal. To see your specific renewal date, check your CFP Board ID card or log in to your CFP Board account at CFP.net and check your account dashboard.
Your CFP Board ID card will be mailed to you and should arrive at the primary address listed on your CFP Board account within two weeks after your initial certification.
You must renew your CFP® certification by logging on to your CFP Board account at CFP.net and navigating to your account dashboard.
CFP Board raised the annual CFP® certification fee in 2025 to fund the award-winning “It’s Gotta Be A CFP®” Public Awareness Campaign to raise awareness of CFP® certification and to support other CFP Board programs.
