Description
This program will give a detailed overview of the 1031 exchange process that is used by real estate investors to defer state and federal capital gains taxes by reinvesting funds from the sale of investment real estate into more investment real estate. We will discuss the potential taxes and how an exchange needs to balance to defer 100% of the potential taxes. We will examine what constitutes like kind property. Securitized real estate such as the Delaware Statutory Trust (DST) and when it can best benefit clients will be discussed. The role of the Qualified Intermediary will be detailed.
