Participants will learn how the Wisconsin Retirement System (WRS) works; how to advise a participant of his or her investment options; how after-tax contributions work; how after-tax contributions compare to IRAs; and choices the participant or beneficiary can make at the point of retirement or disability.

Learning Objectives

1. Be able to advise clients about the nuances of their WRS pension plan, 2. How to maximize this benefit and determine if supplemental dollars should go into the WRS vs. an IRA, or a taxable account, and 3. How WRS fits into the client’s overall retirement planning.
