Overview

Description

In this session, attendees will learn the process of building their own investment models, including misconceptions and steps that many people miss. Many advisors find that when they outsource investment management, their portfolios reflect someone else's investment philosophy. Being separated from the investment decision process leaves them feeling helpless and unable to answer client questions about their investments. Building and maintaining investment models doesn't have to be as daunting as advisors think. In my consulting work, other advisors (some of whom are XYPN members) have found much more confidence in their work with clients. They know that client portfolios always reflect their own philosophy, and they can confidently answer questions from their clients about why they own what they own.

Learning Objectives

Explore whether advisors should build and maintain their own investment models Learn how to identify and articulate your personal investment philosophy Understand how to align your portfolio holdings with your core investment beliefs
