CFP Board Account Login FAQs
Answers to frequently asked questions about accessing your CFP.net account.
To change the email address that CFP Board uses to contact you, you will need to change the primary email address associated with your CFP Board account.
- Log into your CFP Board account.
- Once logged in, click on “My Account” at the top of the page.
- Find the “My CFP Board Account” menu on the left and click on “My Contact Information” under “Profile.”
- Find “My Email Addresses” and click “Edit/Delete.”
- Choose an email type from the drop-down menu, enter your email and press “Save.” We recommend using a personal email as your primary email address with your account.
To keep your password safe and secure from prying eyes, your CFP Board account password is obscured during the login process, and you (or anyone else) cannot view your password while typing.
Individual CFP Board accounts are for one user only. Organizational CFP Board accounts, such as those for Registered Programs, can have multiple authorized users.
To change the primary email for your CFP Board account, follow these steps:
- Log into your CFP Board account.
- Once logged in, click on “My Account” at the top of the page.
- Find the “My CFP Board Account” menu on the left and click on “My Contact Information” under “Profile.”
- Find “My Email Addresses” and click “Edit/Delete.”
- Choose an email type from the drop-down menu, enter your email and press “Save.” We recommend using a personal email as your primary email address with your account.
If you have multiple emails, check which inbox has received emails from CFP Board. If you’re unsure, call us toll-free at 800-487-1497 (8:30 a.m.-6:00 p.m. ET, Monday-Friday).
First, confirm you entered the correct email address. Then check your junk or spam folder. If you still don’t see the email, call 800-487-1497 (8:30 a.m.–6:00 p.m. ET, Monday–Friday,).

If the reset link for your CFP Board account isn’t working, contact CFP Board toll-free at 800-487-1497 (8:30 a.m.-6:00 p.m. ET, Monday-Friday).
To reset your CFP Board account password, go to https://www.cfp.net/login and click Forgot Password, or follow this link. Enter your email address associated with your CFP Board account, and you’ll receive a link to create a new password.
The password you are entering doesn’t match what CFP Board has on record, and as a precaution, CFP Board has locked your account. Reset your password here or call CFP Board toll-free at 800-487-1497 (8:30 a.m.-6:00 p.m. ET, Monday-Friday).
CFP Board requires a strong password or passphrase to safeguard the information stored in your CFP Board account. That’s why each CFP Board account password is required to have between 15-50 characters to help ensure your account’s security.
