Public Policy

Financial Planning Days

CFP Board has joined forces with three national non-profit organizations – Financial Planning Association®, Foundation for Financial Planning, and the U.S. Conference of Mayors – to organize annual Financial Planning Days, consisting of free public events in cities around the country.

Financial Planning Days give you an opportunity to meet one-on-one with CFP® professionals who can address your specific financial questions and provide you with unbiased, no-strings-attached financial guidance. In addition to personalized advice, you will also be able to attend informative classroom-style workshops addressing popular personal finance topics.

Financial Planning Days are generally scheduled in October and November. To learn more and find an event near you, visit

About Financial Planning Days

At Financial Planning Days, you may seek advice on a variety of topics – retirement planning, investment strategies, budgeting, credit and debt, taxes, insurance, education savings and small business finances, among many others.

Best of all – it's free and there are no strings attached! All financial planners are participating as volunteers and they will not be taking down names, selling products or services, or giving out business cards and marketing materials. Come as you are, or come prepared with any financial paperwork related to your questions. And, you can consult with as many different financial planners as you need!
