CFP Board collaborates with numerous organizations to educate the public about the benefits of financial planning and ensure that there are competent, ethical financial planners to serve consumers.

  • CFP Board participates in several programs for high schools and provides teachers with materials and guest speakers to assist educators in introducing students to financial planning concepts and careers in financial planning. In addition, CFP Board registers the financial planning programs of colleges and universities, which provides an opportunity for students in these programs to fulfill CFP Board's education requirement and sit for the CFP® Certification Examination, two of the four prerequisites that must be successfully completed to obtain CFP® certification.
  • Financial Services Firms - CFP Board has developed working relationships with financial services firms that support and encourage their employees and associates to pursue CFP® certification.
  • Continuing Education Sponsors - CFP Board reviews continuing education (CE) courses and accepts for CE credit those courses that meet CFP Board's requirements for the continuing professional development of CFP® certificants.
  • Nonprofit Organizations - CFP Board collaborates with professional associations, consumer groups and government agencies on projects to educate the public about the importance of personal financial planning.
  • Human Resources Professionals - CFP Board has developed materials and resources to help HR professionals inform employees about planning for their financial future.
