Call him the standard setter. As chair of the organization that oversees the country's more than 60,000 CFP[® professional]s, Moran, 68, is responsible for preserving what he calls the integrity of that adviser certification and for promoting its value to investors and Wall Street alike. Not everybody who hangs out a shingle as an adviser, he says, is either trained or qualified to provide people with sound financial advice.
