CFP BOARD REQUESTS PROPOSALS FOR 2009 FINANCIAL PLANNING GRANTS PROGRAM

WASHINGTON, DC, July 2, 2009 - CFP Board has announced details of its 2009 Financial Planning Grants program, which provides grant funding to innovative and sustainable projects that further its mission to benefit the public by granting the CFP® certification and upholding it as the recognized standard of excellence for personal financial planning. The 2009 Financial Planning Grants program introduces an option for funding research projects designed to result in practical information that enhances CFP Board’s focus on maintaining rigorous standards in the interest of consumer protection, and that enables CFP® certificants to provide broader segments of the public with competent and ethical financial planning. The application deadline for proposals is August 31, 2009.

CFP BOARD CENSURES IMPROPER CFP® CERTIFICANT CONDUCT
WASHINGTON, DC, July 1, 2009 - Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards Inc. (CFP Board) today announces that it has issued interim suspensions of the following individuals' rights to use the CFP® certification marks: Morris Armstrong, Jeffrey A. Forrest and Julie M. Jarvis.
