CFP Board partners with financial planning educators across the country to establish programs designed to prepare individuals with the competency required to deliver financial planning services to clients, and to ensure the ongoing competency of CFP® professionals.
Continuing Education Sponsors
In order to meet CFP Board’s Continuing Education (CE) requirement, CFP® professionals must complete 30 hours of CE every two years, of which two hours must be focused on Ethics CE.

CFP Board-Registered Programs are financial planning education programs at the college or university level that offer a professional financial planning curricula approved by CFP Board. Graduates of CFP Board-Registered Programs satisfy the education coursework requirement for CFP® certification and are eligible to take the CFP® Certification Examination.
