CFP Board partners with financial planning educators across the country to establish programs designed to prepare individuals with the competency required to deliver financial planning services to clients, and to ensure the ongoing competency of CFP® professionals.
Continuing Education Sponsors
CFP® professionals must complete at least 30 hours of Continuing Education (CE) every two years. CE sponsors are organizations that have submitted their programs to CFP Board for review. Approved sponsors may advertise that the programs have been submitted to CFP Board for CE credit.

Registered Programs
CFP Board-Registered Programs are financial planning education programs at the college or university level that offer a professional financial planning curricula approved by CFP Board. Graduates of CFP Board-Registered Programs satisfy the education coursework requirement for CFP® certification and are eligible to take the CFP® Certification Examination.
