CFP Board's 2007 Financial Planning Clinic

CFP Board invites you to attend a free Financial Planning Clinic on Saturday, August 4, 2007, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Sheraton Boston Hotel. This special event will bring together CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professionals from around the country who will share their time and expertise with the general public by answering consumers' financial questions for no cost. Consumers will be able to speak one-on-one with volunteer CFP® professionals and sort out their personal finance questions and concerns, including questions on a wide range of financial topics:

• General Financial Planning
• Retirement Planning
• Investment Planning
• Income Tax Planning
• Estate Planning
• Insurance Planning
• Employee Benefits Planning

What is a Financial Planning Clinic?

At the free Financial Planning Clinic, volunteers will be seated at tables designated for financial planning topics. Consumers will choose a topic they are interested in and head over to the appropriate table to receive free assistance with their financial questions. CFP Board has organized the Financial Planning Clinic to further its mission of creating awareness of the importance of financial planning and the value of the financial planning process as well as helping underserved populations have access to competent and ethical financial planning.

Last year's Financial Planning Clinic in Los Angeles was a resounding success. It was covered by more than 75 media outlets, including ABC, CBS, NBC's Telemundo, LA Times and The Daily Breeze, as well as numerous other TV and radio stations, newspapers and online publications. In later surveys, 100% of volunteers said that they would do it again, while 94% of attendees said they would recommend it someone else.

The volunteer CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professionals will speak to only one individual or one individual family at a time. Volunteers will not be permitted to hand out business cards or attempt to sell any products or services at the Financial Planning Clinic. Attendees will have access to the volunteers' names and contact information and other helpful financial planning information in the Financial Planning Resource Booklet that all attendees will receive as they enter the clinic.

Clinic attendees will be required to attend an informative 15-minute briefing before they enter the clinic and speak with a CFP® professional. The briefing session is designed to help attendees get the most out of the Clinic, and briefing sessions will take place throughout the day, from 9:40 to 1:00.
