CFP Board Employee Benefits

HEALTH AND WELFARE PLANS    
Life Insurance:
Provides term insurance coverage up to two times an employee's annual salary to a maximum of $500,000.
Accidental Death & Dismemberment Insurance:
AD&D is tied to the life insurance as a package. Coverage is equal to the amount of life insurance you have.
Short Term Disability (STD) Insurance:
Helps replace 66.7% of your salary (weekly maximum of $2500) if you suffer a covered disability for up to 13 weeks. (Waiting period = 14 days)
Long Term Disability (LTD) Insurance:
Helps replace 66.7% of your salary (monthly maximum of $12,000) if you suffer a covered disability for an indefinite period of time. (Waiting period = 90 days)

Dependent Life Insurance:
CFP Board also purchases basic term-life for spouses in the amount of $5,000 (the value above $2,000 is a taxable item) and dependent coverage based on age starting at $400 up to and including $2,000.

Worker's Comp:
If an employee is injured or becomes ill as a result of work, he or she may be eligible to receive insurance benefits provided under the applicable state's Workers' Compensation Act. CFP Board pays for all costs associated with providing this insurance protection. It is important to report immediately any accident or injury that occurs on the job, or that is believed to be job-related, to a supervisor or to the Human Resources department.

Vision Insurance:

Employee Assistance Program:
Through the Employee Assistance Program (EAP) provided by Anthem and the Ability Assist Program provided by Hartford, CFP Board provides access to professional counseling services for help in confronting such personal problems as alcohol and other substance abuse, marital and family difficulties, financial or legal troubles, and emotional distress.

125 Plan:
CFP Board employees may participate in the flexible spending 125 plan, which offers tax savings, when employees deposit pre-tax dollars into a fund, which can later be used as reimbursement for covered expenses. The employee’s share of group insurance premiums can automatically be paid through the 125 Plan, providing tax savings to insured employees.
Medical Flexible Spending Account:
The Medical Reimbursement Plan offers reimbursement of medical care expenses not covered by insurance, such as co-pay on eye exams or medical appointments, glasses, prescriptions and qualified over-the-counter items.
Dependent Child Care:
Offers reimbursement of child care expenses.
Transportation Reimbursement:
Offers reimbursement for parking and transit expenses.

401(k):
Upon enrollment, employees may elect to defer up to 100% of Eligible Compensation or the statutory limit, whichever is less. Employees are 100% vested in their deferrals and any gains or losses on those deferrals from the first day of participation in the plan.

Tuition, textbooks, and laboratory/registration fees will be reimbursed at 50% of expenses incurred, provided that the employee receives a grade of "C" or above. The 50% will increase to 75% for classes in which the employee gets an "A"(if the class is a pass/fail class with no letter grade given, 50% reimbursement will be given for a "Pass"). The maximum reimbursement amount is $2,000 per calendar year.

Employees who use the service of a CFP® professional for personal financial planning may request reimbursement up to $300 per calendar year.
