July 17, 2010 marks the 25th anniversary of CFP Board, and we invite you to join us in the celebration.

The financial planning profession has seen incredible growth during CFP Board’s first quarter century, with many significant accomplishments along the way. But the success and increasing public recognition of the CFP® marks isn’t something CFP Board accomplished alone. We’ve made it to this point with the help of the entire CFP® certificant community and the many individuals and organizations who have supported the CFP® certification. And we will be able to make the most of the opportunities approaching us only with your ongoing support.

To celebrate this milestone, CFP Board hosted a national news conference on July 13, 2010, which served as the launching point for a broader public relations campaign, including a new consumer advertisement in the print versions of Investment News and The Wall Street Journal and the online editions of USA Today (Money section), National Journal/Congress Daily and POLITICO. This new advertisement is available for use by individual CFP® professionals who wish to place the advertisement in their local publications or share it with their clients and potential clients.

Helping Consumers Understand Who They Can Turn to for Trusted Advice
"In a world where most people who call themselves financial planners or advisors have an "alphabet soup" of designations following their name, it is critical to have organizations such as the CFP Board that provide credibility and strive to educate the public on the meaning of CFP® certification."  – Clarissa Hobson, CFP®, Colorado Springs, Colorado, June 11, 2010.
